Counseling Center Located in the Roaden University Center, the university Counseling Center exists to
promote healthy student development and to offer support to students during their
time at Tech. A wide range of mental health, educational, career and consultation
services are available to students and members of the campus community in individual
and group settings and clinical services are offered by the center’s staff of professional
clinicians. The center also hosts its own afterhours crisis hotline, allowing students
to reach a counseling any time by calling 931-372-3331 or 855-206-8997. Campus Recreation Stay active with campus recreation opportunities ranging from group fitness classes
and intramural sports team events to workout facilities and outdoor equipment rentals.
Students have access to the university Fitness Center which features basketball courts,
racquetball courts, a climbing wall, a pool, a track, saunas, weight room, golf room,
cardiovascular area and more. Accessible Education Center Tech is committed to providing the campus community with equal access to university
facilities and programs. The Office of Disability Services is dedicated to providing
support services for students with permanent or temporary disabilities through a variety
of resources including academic adjustments, assistive technology and software, alternative
testing options and programs that promote awareness of disability-related topics. Health Services Health care providers are available to assist and treat the campus community through
Tech’s Health Services, located on the east side of Bell Hall. Our health care providers
are experienced in treating various medical problems and offer acute care, urgent
care, preventative care and immunizations. Services are available to full-time and
part-time registered students and faculty and staff at Tech. It is best to make an
appointment, but walk-ins are accepted as time permits. Healthy Dining Options Healthy dining options are available on campus in the cafeteria located in the Roaden
University Center. A fresh salad bar is offered daily along with various hot food
options. Vegan and vegetarian options are available daily and nutrition information
for all food options in the cafeteria is posted to help those dining on campus make
the food choices that are best for them. Local Parks and Recreation With nine state parks within an hour of campus and 10 city parks located in Cookeville,
opportunities to get outdoors are abundant. Bike the Tennessee Central Heritage Rail
Trail, a 4-mile paved bike trail that runs through Tech’s campus between Cookeville
and Algood, or hike the trails at Burgess Falls State Park, Cummins Falls State Park
or Rock Island State Park to check out local water falls.
